Hi, I'd like to know two basic things that I've been pulling my hair out over.

How do you get access to auto open a form when opening a database (eg double clicking on databasename.mdb)?

How do you get the form window to auto maximise when opened?

Thanks

Open the database and go to Tools>Startup. There is a combo box at the top right corner headed Display Form/Page. Select the form you want to open when the database starts up from the available list.

As long as you haven't specified that the form is pop-up then it should automatically maximise on opening. If it doesn't, open the form in design view, right click the little box at the corner of the form (where the verticle and hortizontal rulers join) and select properties from the list of options. Select Events when the properties box opens and look for the On Open event, double click the combo box to the right of On Open and [event procedure] will appear in the combo. You will also get a button to the far right with three dots in it, click the button and a module will open. Between the Private Sub etc and End Sub put

DoCmd.Maximise

This way when the form is opened the VBA forces it to maximise.

Shout if you get stuck

Thanks

Thanks a bunch that worked a treat. It's maximize with a Z though...

The DoCmd is a pretty comprehensive command I'll remember that one if I ever do Access programming again.
