Number Field

Hello,

I have a number field in my table as well as an autonumber field. Eachtime I add a new record I need it to check the number for the last record and add one, this field would be cleared every month.
Any suggestions?

This is a get next number function right?

But I noticed that it "displays" the next number, but how do I fill in the field automatically?
