ODBC connection failed but works on others

Recently a user received a different machine created the ODBC connection to SQL server, do the test connection says it was successful. Pull over the .mde file and I get "ODBC--connection failed "Kim-Data".
I actually went and deleted the ODBC Connection through administrative tools and re-did it, still the same.

The user had all this on his previous system and worked fine, problem is beyond the doing what I did I don't know what other things to check.

Different SQL client maybe. Specifying an older one but only a newer client might be available?
What does linked table manager say it is looking for? You are relinking the tables after creating the DSN right?
