Does an ODBC linked table stop filling after 60 seconds?

My problem, which I am still investigating, is that I have an ODBC link to an AS400 server and I don't think I'm getting all of the records. I know that within all queries there is a default 60 second timeout for ODBC connections but does that only refer to getting the first record? For instance, the query does not receive a record in 60 seconds, it times out, BUT if it receives a record within 60 seconds it keeps filling no matter how long it takes.

Thanks for reassuring me Pat. I ran a query in the AS400 and compared to the ODBC connection results in the db. Same number of records returned in both but the Access data is not matching.

I am looking at purchase orders against parts. Part number 123 has 3 PO's against it (PO's 456, 789 and 101). I see the correct results in the AS400 query but in the Access ODBC connection I get part number 123 X 3 all with PO 456. Very strange.

I'm going to delete the ODBC connection and set it up again to see if that will solve the issue.

Thanks for the advice Pat. We are linked so that every time the db is opened from an unrunning state, meaning someone opens it and no one else had it open when they did so, the link refreshes.

I deleted the link and set it up again but still got the same results. The really strange thing is that I query against this table and in doing so get correct results. I have no idea how that occurs but I'm just going to monitor it for a while and manually check that data in AS400 agrees with outputs of Access db.

Thanks for you time and advice.
