Office 97 Access

I have the Microsoft Office97 version of Access. I just purchased a Dell XPS with Windows 7. The entire Office Suite runs okay except Access. I get the message, "Microsoft Access couldn't find file 'C/windows32/system.mdw. This file is required for startup."

I've tried to find the file on the disk but no luck.

Is there any place I can get this file?

As you can imagine, my computer skills are nil.

I was about to refer you to this thread where I just posted a copy of system.mdw for someone else but you will probably not be able to use it because I'm sure it is at least version A2K. But you can try it. After you save and unzip the file, rename it to system.mdw.

If that doesn't work for you, you will need to find someone with A97 who can locate a clean copy and send it to you.

A97 was my favorite version of Access but sometimes we need to let go.
