Can't communicate with the OLE server

I am completely frustrated by a problem which may be really simple for someone well versed in OLE.

I have distributed databases in Access 97 which have forms which contain static images. These graphics were processed via Word and inserted as embedded objects into the form, appearing as unbound object frames. This worked well for a long time. Inexplicably (to me), certain of the forms now produce an error message for each of the graphics images displayed:

(dbname) can't communicate with the OLE server
The OLE server may not be registered
To register the OLE server, reinstall it.

What is particularly odd is that of several forms that were produced as copies of the original, only certain of them produce the error.

Any ideas please???

Solution

Solved just as I was on the point of giving up on this one. My wife threw the OLE server message at a search engine and a Microsoft Knowledge Base Article came up!

The problem is caused by Norton AntiVirus 2000, 2001 or 2002, and is fixed by disabling script blocking in that program.

Base Article 295824 refers. Thank you Jeeves!

I have tried every Microsoft suggested knowledge base fix. Successfully registering the triedit.dll, fixing the Office application installation. Changing the registry for bitmap application associations and JPEG associations. Re-installing Office 2003, trying to change the embedded object to a hyperlink reference, turning off antivirus script blocking, but nothing works. I'm running Windows 2000 SP-4 and I have updated completely with all security updates and hotfixes for Access 2003 and/or Office 2003. Even returning to pre Office SP-2 does nothing.
The interesting thing is it works fine on a new installation of Windows XP Pro with SP-3! But the initial database was usable from the Windows 2000 OS just four to five months ago . I'm ready to just scrap the use of Access and stick with MySQL which works fine for the same data. It just doesn't give me the same graphical UI I've grown to like.
