be careful when using date on anything in access - as this is a reserved word in access
So you want to be able to enter a default value on a form that all new data looks at ?? and uses -
so set up a form/table that will hold this default value
then on your other form have it get this value by lookup ??
if its todays date you want then your datefield should be now() and mess around with the foramt dd/mm/yy or dd/mm/yyyy or yyyy/mm/dd
try these or for other date formats this is a subject you need to look at examples/samples someon did a good post on date formats
