One Selection covers All Forms

I have a database to track records over a set period of time. There are 3 seperate time periods with the same type of date in them. What my problem is, every time the user opens a form(s) and record(s) they must select which time period to work with. What I am wanting to do is at the main menu they can select which period to work with and stay in that period regardless of which form or record they select.

So what is the exact problem? If you have a main form and open forms from that form, you can pass data to the form (the one to be opened) in the arguments of the DoCmd.OpenForm.

Thanks spikepl, that was a good kick in the head to get my brain going. will need to study up on data passing to get the coding right to get the job done.
