Hello

I wondered whether anyone had any time to look at my attached database. I have recently been having trouble between the two main forms (Frm_Company and Frm_NewCompany). Essentially these two forms are the same, with a few subtle differences (i.e. which buttons are visible etc) The main difference is that the Frm_NewCompany is used to open as a blank, editable form for adding any new company details. The other (Frm_Company) displays any data which as already been entered into the database. This form is usually accessed by a) Logging in b) Picking a company / prospect from the search list c) pressing OK / double clicking...

I have been having some trouble with the SubFrm_Correspondence which is attached to BOTH of the forms.

Originally my issues revolved around the combo box as the query it was running off was only pointing to Frm_Company - it therefore wasn't refreshing properly on Frm_NewCompany. I seem to have fixed this by creating a separate query for each form and changing the record source depending on which main form is being used... not something I've tried before so I don't know if it's good practice but it 'appears to be doing the job'?

However - now this 'appears to be working' I have a new error - one which I have not yet experienced... on clicking the 'add new' button on the SubFrm_Correspondence (this is the one located at the bottom of both forms) - the notes section is becoming locked some how (i.e. I cannot enter text into it). It is OK if that is the first field I enter but if I have chosen the type of correspondence out of the list box and then the name of the contact from the combo box first then for some reason I cannot enter anything into the notes section.... I am unsure to why this is happening... the only thing I can think is that it has something to do with the combo box or query the form is based on... how to fix it.... I'm stuck??

Any advice would be hugely appreciated!

Thanks

this was one of my thoughts too, the problem is... if I am trying to do this (unknowingly) then how do I solve the problem? I will definately look into it, thanks.
