Open a Split Form in Dialog mode? Why does it take up the whole screen?

Hello,

I have a split form that I want to open in dialog view but when I do it opens and fills the entire screen with the close button off screen. If I switch my form to form view then it will open up in dialog at the right size, about 4 inches by 4 inches.

Am I missing a setting some where on properties to make a split form open properly?

Thanks, I like the tabbed view better for what I am building so I will stay with the tabs. I'm just guessing the Dialog view is primarily for Forms set to Form view and and not Split forms or datasheets views.

Have you set the form's Popup property to YES? That might make it act like you want.

Yes, I tried that and it didn't work.

Well, I guess you can either use the tabbed environment and live with the form doing what it is doing, or move back to the cascading windows format.

If you want to post your database I can see if I can get it to work any better (although have to wait until I go home as I don't have 2007 here at work yet).

Thanks for the offer. I think I am doing ok for now. If I have anymore problems, I will take you up on your offer. I havn't built a database in a long time (ten years) and I seem to have forgoten what little I knew then, which wasn't much. I appreciate all the help and informaition I have found in this forum.

I know there probably is a better way to do things then I did, I have a ton of queries and complex relations among the tables, but it all seams to be working for now.
