Not sure if this would help--however
In the systems that I am working on I have a switchboard that opens as the main page. When a selection for certain entries are made a parameter or password is asked for. This has kept the users in the pages that they need to be in, and not other places. I know constraints are not fun but that is what I know to do with this issue for now.
