open file buttons

Hello everyone,

All I really want to do is have a button on a form that opens an excel spreadsheet. I know I can have a button run excel, but I would like it to also open a particular spreadsheet. I unfortunatly have not found any code or macros that do this. I was just wondering if anyone knows how to do this, or if it's even possible. Any help or ideas are greatly appreciated! Thanks

Are you just trying to create a hyperlink to a specific file?
Will the file be static or dependent uponthe record?

If the file it static, then use the control box to place a button on your form (with the wizard disabled), then click on Properties...next to the hyperlink addess field click on the "..." and it will allow you to browse for your file and link it to the button. That way the specific file opens and not just excel.

If you want to link files that are related to your records, then you will need to add a hyperlink field where you can save the pathes to each of the individuall related files!
