OpenArgs - Clearing the data

I am attempting to open a form from two different forms [at diferent times] so I am using the OpenArgs property when calling it and sending the name of the calling form as I need this information when the common form opens.

When the one form, say 'Rooms' calls 'common form' it then closes. 'Common form' can open the second form 'Tasks' and close. No problem thus far.

DoCmd.OpenForm "common form", , , stLinkCriteria, , , "Rooms"


But when 'Tasks' now calls 'common form' and I look at the value in OpenArgs [which is 'Tasks' when the Task form called], it remains as 'Rooms'.

DoCmd.OpenForm "common form", , , stLinkCriteria, , , "Tasks"

I cannot figure out why this text is not updated and need a way to do so. When Tasks calls 'common form' the text should be "Tasks" and when Rooms calls, it should be "Rooms" and it is not working!

Do you have any advice for me? It is the first time I have attempted to use this capability.

I'd really like some help. I've been to a lot of threads on OpenArgs and this property is used.

What do you folks do when you are using this and calling a form from different forms?

Am I just being stupid or is my question legitimate?
