I think i'm having a bit of a thick week here! I've been asked to create a database which will hold details of servers and the times during the week they need to be operational. I will also need to include the times that they are available for hardware maintenance, software maintenance, and for patching/reboot.
I have an idea in my head that I want to be able to select the server, then below that have a nice graphical display showing when the server is operational etc, with days of the week down the left hand side, and the 24 hours across the top (the operational times wouldn't change from week to week, so don't need more than one week worth of data (either collected or displayed)).
I'm happy doing the form design bit, but, the bit where I am stuck is how to do the table structure. I just can't seem to get my head around it today! Any suggestions on how to set things up?
Data to be collected is:
Server Name, Owner, OS, Status, maintenance window, operational hours, patching window. The maintenance & patching window and operational hours won't change week to week, but will do day to day!
