Order level-TESTING

Hi I have a form and within it a subform. The form allows users to ammend order quantities. However on the subform there is a calcualtion field where it calculates using the order quanity and order already delivered how many is outstanding.

With that in mind i made the order quantity validation rule as >=[Orderammended1].[Form]![Text22]

This works perfectly where orders have been delivered for an item. however if no item have been delivered. the total order field in the subform is blank and this affect the order quantity. If i try to change the order quantity my error message pops up. is there a way round this.
