Hi everyone,

I have just made my DB send e-mails bypassing the Outlook installed on the server (couldn't make it to overcome the security alert when no one was logged on to the server) by means of CDO. it works fine, but now I want to make the next step: make the DB send not just e-mails but Outlook tasks or events that will go to the recipient's calendar. Is there any way to do that without using Outlook to send it?

I believe the answer is no. Emails can be sent without Outlook because they are an industry standard and can be sent using various programs or methods.

Outlook tasks and scheduled events are Outlook specific, they can only be created/managed by Outlook.

If you are sending through an Exchange Server there is something the Exchange Administrator can setup to allow specific accounts to send email sans the security messages.

Thanks, I suspected there wasn't any way to do that :( I'm using a remote SMTP server to send mail - so it looks like I won't be able to do anything beyond that.
