I would like for a report to do a page break every time a particular field changes - is this possible and if yes, then how?

Create a Group in the report for Category and then set it to have a FOOTER. You can size the footer down to nothing but then in the footer's properties you set the FORCE NEW PAGE property to AFTER SECTION.

I have no idea what you mean Create a Group? Do you mean create a subreport?

No, I don't mean create a subreport. I mean create a GROUP on your particular field. Which version of Access are you using? I ask because it is very different how you create the group if you are on 2003 or earlier as compared to 2007 and 2010.

I did exactly what you suggested and I am still not getting the page break. Could this be something in Access settings? I also am on 2007.

Well, without seeing your report it would be hard to tell. Can you upload a copy with bogus data so we can take a look?

I'm not sure how to upload an Access Report only so I tried to upload the accdb and received the following message. And being a first time use I so appreciate your help!

Your submission could not be processed because a security token was missing.

If this occurred unexpectedly, please inform the administrator and describe the action you performed before you received this error

1. just reload the page before trying to upload.

2. You should run Compact and Repair (from OFFICE BUTTON > MANAGE) first and then ZIP the file (to zip right click on the file and select SEND TO > COMPRESSED FOLDER).

The file needs to be at or under 2Mb when uploading.

I am going to mock up the db and send that when complete.

Here it is; thanks so much!

Your report is working properly. If you use REPORT VIEW then it places it all on one. If you use PRINT PREVIEW then it does the paging. (You also need to squeeze the controls down so that it doesn't exceed the total space (margins included).
