Page number error on footer where "different first page"

Hi guys,

I have a several two page Word 2000 documents with "different first page" selected in Page Layout. The page number is in the page footer on both pages of each document. When I print the documents, I get "Page 1 of 1" on the first page, and "Page 2 of 2" on the second page. It appears correctly ("Page 1 of 2") when I'm editing and in print preview.

I tried changing Section Start to "continuous" which fixed the problem for a single printing, and then it went wonky the next time I tried to print. I've even double checked that I've got the right code in there!!

What have I done wrong? I'm sure it's just one little setting problem...

I have the same problem. My wife printed out a 9 page document and it came out 1 of 1, 2 of 2, 3 of 3 etc. Print preview was fine, but even hitting the print button from there the fault was evident.

We have two computers - both set to the same printer. She copied the document to the other computer and it printed out fine.
