Hi:
I am a novice user of Access 2010. I have designed my report without a header or footer. Now I am told that I have to insert a page number in the report. When I do this in Access 2010 it adds a page header and footer with the page code but it throws the printing all out of whack and prints it on a separate page. Is there any way I can insert the page information in the Details section (where I have everything else) and dispense with these headers and footers?

If you use the page footer for the numbering that would be easiest. You could resize the header so it doesn't take up space and you could resize the footer and detail or page margin settings to help keep the page number on the current page. If you were to put the page number in the detail, is only one record showing up on each page or do you display several records on a page? If only one record on a page, then you probably could insert a page number there, otherwise you would have to do some calculations to determine at what point to print the page number and to have the field containing the page number become hidden or visible.

Thanks for the help that is what I ended up doing.
