Parameter query to charts

Dear All

I am trying to create chart based on a query. Query is a parameter query. Parameters are set on two fields, Customer and Analysis date fields. I have set the parameters as follows
[Type the name of customer] in customer field criteria and
Between [Analysis date from] And [to] in Analysis date field criteria.

Using the same parameters, it pulls the right data for report but when I use it for chart it gives following error message

‘Database engine does not recognize [Type the name of customer] as a valid field name or expression’.

Is there anyone who can help me out of this please?

Have you defined the parameters in the Parameter box

Do you define both in criteria and in parameter window. I have just tried to enter the same criteria in parameter widow but by default it enteres additional brackets '[' in start and in the end. When I tried to use it on a report to insert chart, it did not even let me select the query saying some filed are invlid.
