I'm sure this has been asked a thousand times...not sure how to search on it...so I apologize if I am asking Unnecessarily:
I have several queries in a database that all prompt the user to key in a value. Most of the data for this particular database is coming from linked tables. The linked tables are text files from data that we are gathering using scanners. I then move the text file to a pc and name the file to allow the link from the text file to my Access db.
Instead of keying in the value for the parameter queries each time, I would just like the queries to use a value that is in another query/field because it will always be there and is the same value that is needing to be keyed.
Probably not explaining this worth a damn. Here are two pictures to illustrate:
In this query I have a prompt for a user keyed value
See qryp.jpg
Instead of the user keying the value I just want to use the value from the field called - location - of the query
see qryv.jpg
Hope you can understand me.
thanks!
