Parameter Query

I really think you have John! I am working on the project over the next few days and will let you see the final results!

**Again , I really do appreciate all your help with this "mind-boggleing" experience!!

One more question for you John. I am going through my tables and organizing them better using normalization rules. However, i have a field that listed all the suppliers we use. This field has a dropdown list to choose from. Well in the old table if the name of the supplier wasnt there we could type the name in and it would store it. Well, now (with the new table) it wont accept any name thats not in that list.

What did I do....?

I really need to be ablt to choose from the list and pick the name if its there, but if not, I need to just be able to type the name in.

Thanks John!

Have a look at the post here or perhaps the sample here will give you some pointers.

I think the sample will work.:)

Another issue I am having is. The sample db5 that you sent, after I perform the search and the items return in the form, I need to place a link to open the form to another Form.

I am trying to use this code, (i got this from another db) wanted to know if it would work, or what would I need to update...

=IIf(IsNull([ID]),"(New)","Open")

Thanks a million John

I suspect that you will need up date it. I've got no idea what it's doing so you'll need to refer your question to the person that originally posted the DB your lifting that form :o

Actually it was just some code that was in one of the sample databases that came with Access 2010. Is that a basic code to "open" a record in a form?

I'd need to see it in context, and have a play with it. As I don't have '10 that's going to be a little tricky :(
