Pass criteria to microsft query in excel??

I have an excel template that supervisors currently fill in manually, print and file, but I am making a DB to do it systematically.

I would like to use the same excel template that folks are already used to.

Currently, I have the excel document run a query to fetch a record from the database based on what ID # the user types into the query.

My task, is to find a way that users can click a 'print' button on the Access form, that will open the excel template with the current record already filled in, so that it can be printed. (The document still has to be signed and filed. The DB is just for metrics)

How would I go about doing that?

Because I just don't really want to recreate the files.

Is there a way to import an excel template into a report?
or export a report to an excel template?
