It probably depends on whether the database designer wants you to! The fact that you ask the question suggests you may not!
Anyway, what the hell ...
If you can get to the password table and open it in design then you can change the input mask from password. Doing this will let you and everyone else see the password.
If it is only a linked table you cannot change it. You can only change it if you have full access rights to the back end. Otherwise you need a "Get out of jail" card!
The idea being that a password should stay secret!
If you have rights fine, but do be aware of what you are doing and set the input mask back to password when you are finished.
