Hi All,

How do I assign a password to a single button? The buton will be on a form, acting as a switchboard. Only some users will be allowed to use it.

So, when the button is clicked, a form asking for a password should be opened, after entering the password, clicking the OK button should open the form neede to perform the actions.

The db will be locked down, in other words, only the switchboard will be displayed to the users, therfor, there is now need for complicated security issues. I only need a password on this one buton.

Please help.

Thanks

Here's a sample. Open the Main Menu and the password is on the Admin button and the login is Lawson Dawn password test99

THANK YOU EVER SO MUCH!!

That was exactly what I was looking for. It works perfectly. I have one more problem though....

When I try to use the frmUsers from my db, a message pops-up saying: Microsoft Access couldn't find the toolbar 'Standard form'

What could cause this problem? The rest is working perfectly.

Oh yes, another thing, not very important though....after I type in my username and password, the AdminMenu opens, but in minimized mode. I have set the "on Load" setting to MAX, but this still doesn't help. Please advise.

Thank you DBL

Hi Hellfire

Open frmUsers in design view, open the properties for the form and select the Other tab, remove Standard Forms from the dropdown box beside Toolbars. Its a custom one that I obviously forgot to include in the demo. I'll do that now!

Not sure why AdminMenu is opening minimized, it's not on the version I have here (which is obviously the same)

Docmd.Maximise on the OnOpen event of the form should have worked. Make sure that the form hasn't been changed to pop-up or modal and that the Control Box is set to appear.
