Question phone mask

Something has changed my phone mask options and now new entries do not show the optional characters ( ) - as in (870)777-4460 after data is entered. The telephone mask options that used to appear in mask options no longer appears and I can’t find any combination of entries that works properly. The mask presently being used is:
!\(999)000\-0000;;#
Also tried: !\(999\)000\-0000;0;_;0;-

When I click into the phone data entry field and begin to type, the (###)###-#### mask appears, but hitting “enter” changes the look to only numbers, as (870-777-4460) changes to 8707774460. I want it to appear as 870-777-4460.

That's interesting! What is the data type of the field the textbox is bound to?
