pivot table

hi, i am tryin to use pivot table for a display like:
|TYPE1 |TYPE2 |...
|Name1 | Name2 |Name3|Name1 |Name2 |Name3 |...
C1 | |
---------|------------|-------------------------------------------------------
|A |X1 |X2 |...
| | | | ...

-------------------------------------------------------------------------------

I am using access97 and am a novice in pivot table and circumstances dont give me any other option to use for this report ...
The problem is i get this total column for all "Name"s that i dont want ...
The second is , when i apply color settings to the columns , next time i load and refresh it it goes away ... is there a way to make it fixed ...
i understand that its tuf to understand the format but i di not find any button for attachments ...
