Please help me!! My database is still shown as "Read-Only"

Hi,

I have created a database with 30 users in mind. I used the "Database spiltter" in Access 2003 to spilt my database. I have also changed my open option in the advanced tab to "Shared" before sending the front-end to my users.

The problem is that all my users still have the message saying that the database is only "Read-Only"

Can someone help me why is this so?

Have you checked that both front and backend databases have the correct options set. Also does the folder(s) where they reside have the correct permissions?

I maybe wrong but humor me. Are you sure that you database file is not set to read only. you may check this by right clicking the database file and goto properties and check that read only is not ticked.

Like others have said, make sure the permissions are set accordingly for where the backend is residing, IE server, desktop etc... Need to make sure the users have the proper permissions for the folder...
