I have a crosstab query that pulls out Reg and OT hours for depts.

The problem is two fold:

first - One of the messages I get when trying to run the report is this
The Microsoft Jet engine does not recognize " as a valid field name or expression. I am not quite sure what this is telling me.

Second - When I enter in the parameter value in my query of [starting date], [ending date], and [ot] it prompts me to enter this value when I open the report. I understand the starting and ending date prompt but what do I do about the OT parameter value? If I just hit OK it goes on and opens the report correctly, but how can I keep that from displaying as it would throw some of the future users off track. (Even throws me off since I dont understand another way to do this)

If I dont put OT into the parameter, it wont query out the OT value in the report. It tells me something like" The microsoft ......doesnt recognize OT as a valid field name or expression. OR, am I missing something important here?
It is very confusing to me.

Please help!!

Thank you for answering..but since my crosstab query field name is actually paycode, that is the field that i made a column heading, and paycode queries to many column headings such as, Reg, OT, Sick, Vacation, so I dont actually name the heading myself.

I still dont get how to make sure the column headings are the same. The report only shows Reg and OT since that is all I need to see.

Now, if I put OT in the parameter of that query everything works great whether there is OT or not. But, if I dont put OT in the parameter it only works when there is OT.

I dont want users to have to hit OK to get through that box that pops up for "Enter parameter value".

Can you please explain this to a novice?

Thank you so much....
