populate a field from another form

I have two tables/forms Y & Z. Table/form Y has two fields order number & date. Table/form Z has three fields first name, last name, order number. Without using an subform I want to be able to enter information in Table/form Y and hit my (created) button then allowing me to automatically pull up my order number in my Z table/form.
Can anybody please help

The attached zipped database is an application provided by Microsoft which provides numerouse Form example applications.

Although written for Access 2003 I have successfully modified versions for use with 2007 and 2010.

Once the application is installed, launch the .mdb and find the sample...
