I switched a form to popup, and suddenly the OnActivate event does not fire any more. When I switch it back it starts working again.

Is this normal? If so, is there any easy way around this?

Thank you,
Evan

From Access Help:

Note: The Activate event doesn't occur when a form receives focus back from a dialog box, popup, or another form.

This is because as a pop-up the form is 'always on top' so never receives the focus or is activated. Try the On Open event?

I learned from the tip in Access Help that by setting a form to popup it would not maximize when all other forms were maximized. This is why i wanted to set it as a popup - not because I wanted it to be on the top.

It looks like I will have to forego using it.

Thanks,
Evan

I don't know if the command Restore will serve you. I know there was a discussion about forms opening maximized here not too long ago, probably within the last month.

I run my db's slightly different so cannot really relate (I only run my reports maximized and have to force them).

However, if you search for that thread it might shed some light on more information that might be of benefit.

Also, there is a property setting on the form itself that might help as a last ditch.

Apologies,
