Print a Report in a Calendar Format

I would like to have the user enter a date, say 4/17/2011. I would like to extract the month and year (month 4 year 11), print a calendar for April 2011 in standard calendar format. I would also like to print a number in some of the dates. For example, on April 7, we made 101 widgets. On April 7, 2011, the calendar would have 101. Can this be done? If so, is it possible to get an example?

Take a look at CrossTab queries to see if this helps, then make the report based on the CrossTab query.
