Print criteria

I have a menu form that users can select one of two criteria to print a report, fields [Area] or [immediate].

The code I have to set the criteria is set out below.

The strCriteria = "[Area]=""" & Me![Combo17] & """" works fine but the first part strCriteria = "[immediate]=""" & True & """" is not correct some how and brings up an error message about being too complex to evaluate.

I'm sure I'm close with it.

Help please.

Else
strCriteria = "[Area]=""" & Me![Combo17] & """"
