Is there a way to get a Group data field to print at the top of each page ?

It will only print when the value of the Group data field changes, but the users want it at the top of each page. I have a page break in the Group footer. There may be several pages under each value of the Group data field, but only the first page shows the value and the user has to flip back to see what the value is.

Gotta be an easy way to do this, but I've tried various things and can not get it to work.

Thank!

Thanks Rich...

I guess that works... but looks strange because the report also
shows the previous value on the top, followed by the new value.
I don't really care to see the prior value (as its on the previous page).

Any way to get the report to NOT print the previous value before the new value ?

Set the Repeat Section to yes for the Header

Thanks! That's what I needed!

Is there a quick short-cut key to do a 'Select All' in only one specific section, like the Page Header, so that one can quickly move all selected items at once (without selecting each item by hold the 'shift' key down) ?????

Thanks !

airmojo,

Ctrl+A will select all of the controls in the report (including controls in every header and footer).

If you just want to select the controls in one section simply left mouse click outside the control on the far right and, still holding down the left mouse button, drag the mouse over all of the controls. When you let go of the mouse button all of the controls will be selected.

Selecting desired report items?

Hi Flyer!

I can't get the this selection method to work. I'm using Access 97.

I did as you indicated, but its not working. Maybe I'm misunderstanding the part about 'left mouse click outside the control on the far right'. Exactly where outside the control ?

Thanks for your help!

Anywhere outside of the control.

For example, if you have a row of controls in a reports detail section:

Click and hold down the left mouse button to the right of the detail section (completely outside of the report) in design view.

Now drag the mouse pointer over to the left hand side of the detail section and release the mouse button.

At this point every control that you dragged the mouse over should be selected and you should be able to move them as a group.

One thing to bear in mind is that you need to hover the mouse over the group of controls until the pointer changes to a 'black hand' before re-clicking on the group. Failure to observe this last point will result in you selecting the single control which you clicked on to move the group.

Use the Vertical ruler

Click and drag allong the ruler and you will select everything that lines up with your selected area. this works for on the horizontal as well.

At least it doe's in 2000 i'm not sure about 97

You can also click on the left when the mouse pointer changes to an arrow and select everything to the right that's in line

Hi Flyer...

I got it now... I was expecting the items to (like magic!), show selected after I moved the mouse over them. Then realized I have to surround them with a 'select box'.

I got it now... Thanks!

My biggest problem is that I am mainly a mainframe programmer, but
I have an access application that I wrote several years ago, and it is only used once a year to calculate employees bonuses.

It takes me awhile to get back into the access mode!

Thanks again !
