Print page header in subreport

I have a report with a page header that prints perfectly, but when I imbed the report as a subreport into another report, the page header (or report header) is no longer visible. Does anyone know what I'm doing wrong?

I've just seen from searching another forum that subreports "have no 'page' anything". About a year ago the user suggested to the guy to

"Add a top level group section to the sub-reports using an expression like 1=1 and set
the RepeatSection property to True. It will act just like a Page Header only it will
still work when used as a sub-report."

I assume that this means to add a new section in the Sorting and Gouping panel. I have tried this strategey, however, my report is split into 5 columns and when I add another group, it gets thrown into the mix.

So I guess I'm asking for suggestions on how to 'fake' a page header on a subreport.

Thanks

Hi Keith,

Thanks for the reply and all the great info. I tried doing what the posts said, but I think that my problem is a bit different (and perhaps even easier to solve?) In one of your posts to Rick, you said "While it is possible to repeat the sub report's page headers on the new page,". That right there is the heart of my problem. I'm not having trouble keeping my data together, in fact, I'll have data for multiple roll numbers that will have to be started on a new page, but I need to have the header for this data showing on each page so you know what you're looking at.

I've attached the report. Its a little funky because I just saved it as a doc. If you look from pages 3 on, you'll see 2 different tables, one for roll 1, and one for roll 8. I just need to get the collumn labels to print out at the top of each of those pages.

How were you able to get the subroport's page headers on the new page?

Hi Chris,

Thanks for the compliment.

The quote you quote me as saying is actualy quoted from the link that was given by Rickster57 - wheels within wheels eh?

I'd suggest having a look there.

I had a quick search (4th variation of the search strings before I got results  ) and found this which I think answers your questions. If you are still having problems, then post a question on that thread and someone who knows what they are doing will probably answer :)

Hope this gets your problem solved.
