Problem Using Form to Update

Only been using Access for a short time.

I have a Form based on a query. The Form will insert new records into the tables fine, but when I use the Form to try and update, it won't let me. What could my problem be?

I am confused. You say the form will update the tables fine, but when you use the form to update it will not let you. That does not make sense to me. Does it or does it not allow you to update?

Are you opening the form from the switchboard?

Yeah, i am just opening it by clicking of the form name

When you set up the switchboard you have to set it to "open the form in edit mode" I think you selected "open the form in add mode" which will only allow you to add new information. Go to your switchboard manager and change it from add to edit.
