ok this might be a dumb question but i cant seem to solve it.

ok heres the situation.

i have a table called Customer Details which has these fields (only important ones included):
Contact ID - Company representative's index number
Company ID - obviouly where the person works.
Title
Firstname
Surname

The other table (Company Details) has these fields (only important ones included):
Company ID - company identification number
Company Name - name of comany
telephone number

the customer details table contains about 10500 records but the company table only contains 3446 records. just for reference there are more than 1 contacts for each company.

ok the problem is that when i make a query that shows
Company Name
Contact ID
Title
Firstname
Surname
Telephone No

only 4500 records are displayed, i need the query to show every contact and to show where each contact is working at.

hope you can help
thanks in advance....

Create a select query with both tables. Link on Company ID and select the fields you want to display. Set your order and the query should return all contacts with details of the company they work for. If this does not work then it sounds like there are contacts who are not assigned to a company.

whoops...

sorry about that the one thing i didnt check, the thing was that customers were assigned a company, but the companies they were assigned to didnt exsist.
thanks
