Problem with database (2950) [SOLVED]
Access 2007
Windows XP (updated)
My database gives 2950 error. http://support.microsoft.com/kb/931407 is not a solution.
Let me explain:
There is local file X that contains forms etc.
There is a file in a network drive that contains the data.
The files are linked.
The location of X is marked as trusted and the whole security setting is turned off (nobody downloads or uses any weird databases)
First, the database works perfectly. Then, new user (xp) is created. That user can't open the database. It says something about file not found or locked or something.
We find out that the new user who logs into intra doesn't have much rights in the computer. So, we log in as admin and give him the same rights as the other username that had no problems.
Access database seems to work now. However, most forms give error 2950. macro/vba tries to go to a new row.
I click a button that should go to the new row (so new data can be entered) but it gives the same error.
I close the file and go to file properties. I go to security tab that lists users and their rights. I add the current user to the list and give him full rights to the file.
It didn't seem to affect anything. Thats when I had to leave.
I'm wondering what the problem could be and what should I do about it.
I haven't tried if I can modify the data (if can't, then the problem has something to do with write rights to the network folder or file)
I haven't touched file properties of the data file in the network folder.
I don't know if there are problems with rights to the network folder. I do know that I can open the folder and see files.
So, any ideas? I would be very thankful for help.
