Problem with getting my month # to text

I'm having a problem with pulling the month out of this format mm/dd/yyyy. I want to be able to pull the month out and it display it as January or Fedruary, etc. Please help
I also would like a parameter that would ask what month and year I wanted to look for or give me the option to just put year. The top is the main priority.
