I am trying to generate sign-in sheets for a series of classes. For each class there will be a header with the title, location, etc. This will be followed by a table with pre-printed names , identification information, and signature blocks for each registered attendee. The rest of the page will need to be blank rows for last minute attendees to use for signing in. My problem is getting the blank rows to fill up the rest of the page.

Can anyone offer suggestions?

Thanks in advance for your help.

Are you trying to print blank lines for each field? Or do you have a footer that's cutting off what you need as white space?

Describe it a little more as there are a few ways around this.

I've attached a sample sign-in sheet showing the format we are currently using. There will be about 10 to 15 pre-printed names with information in the reference column for each one. The rest of the lines will be blank so that information can be filled in by hand for for people who just show up at the last minute. I have flexibility about how the header information looks, but the columns shown in the sample are required. The ability to add people by hand at the last minute is also a requirement. 'The powers that be' would like for all of the rows, including the blank ones, to be numbered, but I think I can wiggle out of that if I can't get it to work.

I have thought about trying to write code to create enough dummy lines to fill out each page, but writing code is not my strength. I'm pretty good at using the built-in developer tools.

It may also be helpful to know that there will be about 6 to 8 groups meeting daily at each of 5 different sites. Currently, each site creates their own sign-in sheets. They have an individual Word document for each sheet and they fill in the names manually. I want to generate the sheets for each site and email them a single file to print locally.

Thanks for your help. Getting this process automated will be a lifesaver. Please let me know if you need any additional information. :p

OK, this is a pretty simple solution. Make a new table with this design:

NAME: t_Sign-In_Sheet_Template

FIELDS - TYPE:
ID - Byte
Date - Date
Attendee_Sig - Text
Printed_Name - Text
Ref_Info - Text
Hours - Text
Staff_Sig - Text

Set ID as the primary key and save the table. Open the table and pre-fill in the numbers 1 to 100, which will handle five pages if necessary. Close the table. What you are going to do next is programmatically copy that table and update the records with the attendee information.

I know you said you aren't too much of a programmer, so if you need help, I can get you started on that, but not until this evening as I can't exactly write out the sample code needed for this from work. ;)

The whole thing will take me maybe 20-25 minutes if you don't mind waiting until the evening.

Hmmmm.... Interesting! I've got the get our month end stuff done and may not get to play with this for a week or more, but I'd like to see how far I can get using your suggestion. I figure it's a learning opportunity (and maybe I've got a little streak of masochism... Ha!).

I suspect that I will be back for pointers. And I really appreciate your help. ;)
