Problems converting from ACC97 to ACC2002

Hey,

I created an application in Access 97 but French language and when I tried to convert it to Acces 2002, I got a few error messages, the errors are all about formulaires which means forms in english, therefore I went back to my acc97 db and I modified all the formulaires to forms...That help alot, but then when I tried to convert it again I still got a few errors, when I look at the hidden tables in Acc2002, I can see that my filters that I applied in the forms still have formulaires written instead of forms, but I don't know why, I also did a search on all the db for formulaires and nothing was found.....

Does anyone know where it could be hidden....

Doesn't "formulaire" mean "formula" in French?

In any case, I would treat this as a "References" problem. Get to any general or class module, open a code window. The code window's menu bar will include a Tools option. Follow path

Tools >> References

In the dialog box, see if you can find any that are marked MISSING (or whatever that translates to in French.) Those missing references are your most likely culprits.

Search the forum for other articles about "missing references" - you should get more instructions than you ever wanted as a result of THAT little search. I would guess that "missing refs" is one of the most popular and common topics in this forum.

Just for your general knowledge:

Forms = Formulaires
Formula = Formule

Dina01,

Never use French software from Microsoft, they suck (and I'm talking by experience). You always encounter many conversion problems. My suggestion would be to check the VBA code if anything is hidden there....

Thanks for your suggestion, but I work for the govn't therefore by law, we have no choice to have all our PC in French......

Je comprend, c'est une chose que je n'aime pas de mon beau gouvernement... Le choix devrait etre laisse a l'employe, pas lui etre impose. Mais la je tombe dans la politique... Si jamais tu as besoin d'aide supplementaire, laisse moi savoir. Moi aussi je convertis de 97 a 2002 avec certains problemes pour le moins surprenant. Bonne journee.

J'ai presque la même probleme

I converted a French Acc97 to Acc2002 french and english (2 versions of the same dbase), and everything worked out well, except in some of my complex reports, the sub-reports came up quite strangely - none of them worked and on the screen they looked like list boxes. Have you people encountered that?

It has been a while but as far as I can remember, you might have to relink your subreports from the properties table. I think that the way you set your control source has changed.
