Problems getting a Sum total to sort

Hello

Ive have been working on a report which shows me how many times our employees have issued a choosen item from a parts vending machine during a set date range.

I have the underlying Query made which asks for the date range and the item number. The report then counts all transactions made by an employee and creates a summary report. My problem is I cant figure out how to have access Sort the summed transactions in decending order so the employee with the highest number of transactions for that item shows at the beginning.

Attached is a screen shot of my report to help understand what Im trying to accomplish. The red box shows the column I want to sort but cant figure out how. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Ok - I didnt get quite the result I needed. Let me post my query result and the report thats generated from it to see what I am trying to achieve. Images are attached.

The query shows transactions made by employees on a single day for one item. Item 988C was issued 17 times by these employees. You will notice that the query shows some multiple transactions on the same item by the same employee.

The report thats created from this query basically lists the employee once and totals the over all transactions made on item 988C. Now all I want to do is Sort the Quantity Issued column in decending order, but I just dont know how or where to do this. (in this case, the quantity issued column are negative numbers so I would want ascending order instead. It doesn't really matter if the results are neg or pos.)

Use a totals query and base your report on that

TFancher - I see I misunderstood your post. I thought you wanted to count the nbr of times an item was issued not the sum of the qty issued. Your post said count and the rpt showed qty. I should have caught that and asked for clarification. If you look at the attached it shows the changes to the query.
You'll need to change the ascending/descending sort to what you want.

Hmmm --- For some reason I dont have "totals" in my query select design view to specify Sum. Is that somthign that can be added or does the Query need to be redesigned in some way?

When the query is in design view, there should be what appears to be a capital "E" on the tool bar, looks like it might be in a Greek type of font.
If you click that the query should than show the Total row.
