problems with ms access 2000

hi there
for my coursework i need to make a stock control databse, at college we use ms windows nt and ms access 97, but at home im using win xp pro , wif office xp installed and access 2000 installed because i cant convert access xp databse to A97. wen ever i open access 2000 it straight away crashes to the desktop , ive tried reinstalling but the same problem , is there a actual way in gettin access 2000 to work on win xp pro , wif office xp

Im not sure about XP but in 2000 you can covert databses to current and prior versions in the Tool>databseUtilities>ConvertDatabse menu
