Hello all.
I'm working on a database with linked tables and security workgroups set up. The security settings divide the users into groups. One of my users is a member of a group which has full access to a particular table (all boxes ticked). Nevertheless, whilst logged in under her username I am unable to delete records from this table, either through the code designed to do this, or directly from the table in datasheet view. The error message "Record(s) can't be deleted: no delete permission on table[tablename]" occurs.
I've checked the security settings about 5 times - she is definitely a member of this group, and the group definitely has delete data permissions.

Help?

Although I would have thought you would get a different error message, there is one more thing to check anyway.

Since the tables are linked, does this user have MODIFY rights to the file in the remote directory where it resides?

Or does she have CREATE/MODIFY rights on the .LDB file?

It depends on whether you are talking Novell, Windows, or something else as to the actual rights names, but in any case, if the table container file is read-only to this user, her user or group permissions do not matter one whit.
