:confused:Hi everyone,

I am wondering if anyone can push me in the right direction with this, I am building a database which produces a report which I have formatted as a letter, I know I could have done this via a mail merge etc however...

What I am wanting to achieve is when this report(letter) is run, is there a way that when it is produced from a macro button embedded in a form that this report can then be saved as a pdf attachment within the same access database attached to a client record?

I will expand on this should you need me to, I am just unsure if this is even possible. Cannot find what I am looking for with even trusty Google...

Thanks in advance for your help!

Regards

Richard

This is possible with a little bit of code, lookup on DoCmd.OutputTo method.. However attaching the file to the Client record might be not the best option.. As it might involve in an unwanted bloat.. However the alternate option would be to use Hyperlink to the document stored in a secure server location..

Thanks so much Paul, I will investigate this and feed back on my success/failures.

regards

richard

Every report you print should be able to be reproduced. If it can't be then there is a fault within the Database.

For Audit purposed you may wish to print a hard copy and refer back to the Database for comparison.

What you are asking for therefore appears to me to be redundant.
