Hi
Would anyone have any sample code that tie's an active x control progress meter to an open form event. I would like the progress meter to run as the form is loading ?

Thanks

Jackson,

There are several examples here of progress meters. Look in the Sample
Database forum. Also use the Search Facility and look for "progress".

I don't think that you'll be too happy using it on a Form Open event, unless
YOU have a lot of code executing.

Even third party progress meters require that you inform them of the
progress it is to display.

Some events in Access (running queries, opening forms, etc.) are just a
Start/End proposition ... you can't get in during Access's processing to
update anything.

Wayne,

Thanks for the info. Thats what I was afraid of.

Jackson,

If you had something like a form that took two minutes to open, you can
do a couple of things:

First, why so long. Is it based on a table? A large table? Over a network?
You could base it on a query with criteria and maybe speed it up.

Secondly, if you can't change the performance of it. You might be able to
bring up a "form". The form is essentially a progress meter, and via its timer
event, could indicate "progress".

Just some thoughts,
Wayne
