promting in a report

I have a report called invoices, which of course prints out everything on the order. But I was wondering if it is possible to create a report that would prompt me to insert certain criteria on the orders, ex: how many of product number 1234 was ordered. Or do I do this in a query. I am new to access and learned what I know just by trial and error. Any help with this would be trully appreciated

Hi Sonya

You would create a query and base your report on this query. In the query itself you can put criteria under one or more fields. If you only wanted a prompt on an order no for example you would have something like.

Orderno (Your fieldname)
[Enter Order No] (Criteria)

This would prompt you for the order no and find your selction. You could also go a stage further than that and make your own pop up form so you can allow your users to view a selection from a combobox or listbox and open the report accordingly.
