Public variable in textbox

I'm trying to pass a Public variable into a textbox on a report but get the error message "You can't asign a value to this object".

This works OK on the form though.

Any way round this?

Forget it.
Populating the txtboxes on On Open. Should be On Activate.
Sorted.
