Query and calculations

hi, being relatively new to this I need advise regarding the following:

I have a table that inputs/track groups of subscribers on a weekly basis, I need to calculate subscriber growth, i.e. after one year a certain group of subscribers needs to be increased by 10 percent.... I need to be able to query or report the ones that are...

I suspect I need to write a query with some scripting in it, but what script. Or could it be written all in SQL ?

"needs to be increased by 10%" compared to what ?
To the predifined value ? To the number of subscriber for the last year ?
