The "header" in my report pulls informaitn from a query to sort expense information based on Responsibility Centre and project code.

When the report is run the first 2 projects have the same number which then puts the remainder of the projects one-step out and they don't macth up woth the expense information that is genreated in the remainder of the report.

I know this doens't make much sense, hoever if someone was willing to take a look at the database to see what I am talking about I could email, or Zip it to this forum.

Any help would be appreciated!

Trish

Do you mean that you're using a report based on a query, and that you want to report to group information for each Responsibility Centre and project code together?

Basically...

The report was working correctly until I added a new field and included the field in the query, now it seems to be off just a bit.

It is hard to verbally explain - the report returns a separate record for each project code. There seems to be a glitch in the querey which uses the same project code for the first two records, then goes on to generate the remaining project codes in the records sequentially. The "body" of the report has the correct expense information, howver the project code at the top does not macth after the first record due to the glitch in generating project codes.

Anyway I could send you screen shots or the database to give you an idea of what I am talking about?

I'm guessing that your underlying query is a Totals query and the new field has Group By under the Totals row. This is adding a layer of grouping that you did not anticipate. If you can zip a A97 version under 1 M, I can take a look at it.

Here is the zip file (273 kbs)

When you run the "Detailed Project Report" report you will notice that the first 2 records result in the same "Financial Code". The financial code that shows on the 3rd record should actually be on the second record, and everything after that moved up one record.

Thank you so much for taking a look at this.

Oops... in orde to meet the criteria I set use the following when it asks for collators:

First criteria: 21300

Second criteria: 21301

Third criteria: 21305

Dates need to be entered as well (I haven't figured out how to make them non-mandatory): use 04/01/2003 and 04/30/2003

Again... thank you!

 I can't get the file small enough for the forum to accept (minimum I can get it is 1148928 kbs
